Every guild needs rules. Just like a Bounty Hunter's guild requires rules such as "Do not kill fellow hunters", our guild requires them as well. Rules make things go smooth, as well as prevent a lot of misunderstandings, problems and idiocy on the part of those who thrive on the lack of rules. So without further ado, we shall begin.
1. No Spamming
This one is obvious. Spamming is posting a single word or sentence that tells you absolutely nothing in a topic or forum. Words like "cool" and "awesome" are great when they are used in sentences, but they look simply foolish when they are on their own. When you post, post something meaningful and something that will support the topic. A single word or sentence simply won't do.
Skiar Comment: Also, try and keep any and all spam in the Can of Spam board, though it would be appreciated to just be spam free.
2. No Flaming
This one is also self-explanatory. Dissing someone or someone's opinions openly in forums is called flaming, and it is simply UNACCEPTABLE. Whoever starts a flame war will face severe repercussions, because a flame war causes discomfort, and discomfort leads to misunderstanding, frustration, stress and missing members of the guild. Possibly even missing limbs. So please do not flame those who have their own opinions, and try to resolve conflicts peacefully. Threatening will not work and will just make things worse.
3. Avoid posting in the wrong forum, don't double-post.
It is alright to miss this once. But if you post about your personal life in the roleplay thread you will be bushwhacked by monkeys in bomb jackets. On a serious note, it is preferable that you do not post random gibberish that only belongs on a random topic in a designated forum. Same with double-posting, which is posting one post after another to rack up gold. It's cheap and inexcusable. Don't do it.
5. Be civil, don't swear, no harassment.
Civility will keep us all in understanding and as one big group instead of two warring factions. Just like in a battle, a single army is better than two halves of an army that cannot agree. Do not curse badly, swear, come unto, harass or do anything to make other members feel uncomfortable. Minor swearing is allowed, but it is preferable that even that is kept to a minimum. If anyone violates this rule, they will be kicked. No questions asked.
6. Try to write properly
There is no excuse for having improper grammar. Sure, you are fine with shortening words to "OMG" and "LOL", but is that REALLY going to improve your grammar? The English language is a beautiful thing, and if you try to write properly, you will find that the possibilities of what you can do are endless. And if you really must resort to an abbreviation, remember that emoticons are used for that exact reason. Try to keep your language clean: It will help you in the long run (no pun intended). Not a required rule... But something to try for.
7. NO ADULT CONTENT!!!
Please, people. We have children below the age of 18 on the forums here! No adult content and no adult advertisements. Anyone found breaking this rule will be banned.
8. Have fun
This is mandatory. Make sure to have fun and take a good cup of enjoyment with the dish. Thankee!
9. Follow all the rules
You know what this one is. Either that or you can't read. Take your pick. I got more.
